Before using the result

Keep originals when editing important files and verify the downloaded result before replacing the source.

Added text is placed as a small image overlay

The browser renders the text with its font into a PNG, then the image is placed on the PDF. This makes Japanese and other scripts easier to handle, but the added text is not searchable PDF text.

The added text is raster content, not vector text

At extreme zoom levels it behaves differently from the original PDF text. Check the final viewing or print size rather than assuming it has the same sharpness as native PDF text.

Choose pages, position, color, and font size

It works well for short labels such as Reviewed or Internal. It is not a full PDF text editor and does not replace existing document text.

Use the watermark tool for large repeated marks

If you want a large angled label across many pages, PDF Watermark has controls designed specifically for that workflow.
