ID photo layout maker

Create printable multi-up ID photo layouts for common paper and photo sizes.

Input and settings

How to use it

Place repeated copies of one photo on an A4 canvas using a specified physical size and DPI. The defaults are 35×45 mm at 300 DPI with 5 mm spacing.

  1. Choose the photo.
  2. Enter photo width, photo height and DPI.
  3. Generate the sheet, check the copy count and download the A4 PNG.

35×45 mm at 300 DPI is converted into print pixels automatically

The requested millimeter dimensions are converted with DPI, then repeated from the top-left of an A4 canvas with 5 mm gaps. The result also reports how many copies fit.

The source image is drawn directly into the requested width and height. If its aspect ratio differs, it can look stretched; crop to the intended ID-photo ratio first.

Millimeters and DPI determine the pixel dimensions

The conversion is mm ÷ 25.4 × DPI. At 300 DPI, 35 mm is roughly 413 pixels, so the layout is based on intended print size rather than arbitrary screen pixels.

The same photo is tiled across fixed A4

The canvas is 210×297 mm and placement starts with a 5 mm offset and 5 mm gaps. Larger requested photos naturally reduce the number of copies that fit.

There is no automatic face crop

The tool does not detect a face, preserve the original aspect ratio or crop around a subject. Prepare the source photo to the target proportions before creating the sheet.

Printer scaling can still change physical size

A correctly sized PNG can print at the wrong dimensions if the print dialog uses “fit to page” or other scaling. Check for 100% or actual-size printing when exact dimensions matter.
