Location QR code generator

Generate a QR code from latitude and longitude coordinates.

Input and settings

How to use it

Create a QR code containing latitude and longitude so a scanner can hand the location to a compatible map app. It is useful for meeting points, venue entrances or other places that are hard to describe with a street address alone.

  1. Enter latitude from -90 to 90 and longitude from -180 to 180.
  2. Run the generator.
  3. Scan the QR on a target phone and verify that the intended location opens correctly.

Share the exact entrance rather than only the building address

For a large venue, use the coordinates of the actual entrance or meeting point so the scanner receives a more specific location than the building’s postal address.

Map-app behavior varies by device, and GPS/location data can have measurement error. Also consider whether the location is appropriate to publish, especially for homes or private sites.

Coordinates can be more precise than an address

Parks, campuses, convention centers and large facilities often have several entrances. A point coordinate can reduce ambiguity.

Do not swap latitude and longitude

If the resulting map opens in an unexpected region, check the order first. Latitude is the north/south value; longitude is east/west.

Extra decimal places do not guarantee real-world accuracy

A coordinate can contain many digits while the original GPS fix is still several meters off. Pair the QR with human-readable directions when the exact entrance matters.

The receiving map app is chosen by the device

The QR provides a geo location, but Android, iOS and third-party scanners may hand it to different apps.

Publishing coordinates can reveal a sensitive location

Treat a QR containing a private home or restricted site as location disclosure, even though the information appears only as a code.
