JSON-LD formatter / basic validator

Format or minify JSON-LD and check basic @context and @type structure.

Input and settings

How to use it

Parse JSON-LD, format or minify it, and run a small set of structural checks for @context and @type. It is intentionally a basic preflight rather than a Schema.org or rich-result validator.

  1. Paste JSON-LD or load one of the WebPage, Organization or Article presets.
  2. Choose Pretty or Minified output.
  3. Run the check, review structural warnings and copy the resulting JSON.
JSON syntax
Parsed with JSON.parse
Context check
Looks for @context at root or graph items
Type check
Looks for @type on root/graph items
Output
Pretty or minified JSON

Valid JSON can still trigger a JSON-LD warning

A JSON object with "name":"Example" but no @context or @type parses successfully as JSON but receives structural warnings from this tool.

Passing these checks does not prove that Schema.org properties are valid or that Google considers the markup eligible for a rich result. Use the appropriate platform validator for that next step.

JSON syntax is checked before JSON-LD structure

Malformed commas, quotes or braces stop processing immediately with a JSON syntax error, so formatting cannot hide broken JSON.

The tool understands root objects, arrays and @graph at a basic level

It checks the root object or iterates objects in @graph / a top-level array when looking for @type.

Vocabulary semantics are outside scope

A made-up property or an inappropriate property for a given Schema.org type can still pass the basic @context/@type checks.

Pretty vs minified changes formatting, not meaning

Both modes serialize the same parsed object. Pretty adds indentation for review; Minified removes that extra whitespace for compact output.
