Input and settings

How to use it

Create three common HTML link tags for a favicon, Apple touch icon and web app manifest from the paths you provide.

  1. Enter the favicon path, Apple touch icon path and manifest path.
  2. Select Generate.
  3. Copy or download the resulting HTML snippet and place it in the document head.

Three link elements

Default root paths produce three simple head tags

/favicon.ico, /apple-touch-icon.png and /manifest.webmanifest are inserted directly into their corresponding href attributes.

The tool generates references only. It does not create the favicon image, Apple touch icon or manifest file, and it does not check whether those paths actually exist.

Relative root paths work well when assets live at the site root

A path beginning with / resolves from the origin root, which is convenient for common favicon filenames shared across pages.

The three files serve different roles

A browser favicon, home-screen touch icon and web app manifest are separate resources. Referencing one does not automatically replace the others.

Generated attributes are escaped as HTML text

Special characters in entered paths are escaped before the snippet is displayed, reducing accidental markup breakage in the generated output.

Modern favicon setups can be more elaborate

Sites may add SVG icons, multiple PNG sizes, mask icons or theme metadata. This generator intentionally creates only the three core references shown in the form.
