OG image size / safe area preview

How to use it

Check an OG image width/height ratio against the common 1200×630 recommendation and use a 10% inset as a visual safe-area guide. It does not perfectly emulate every social platform crop.

  1. Enter image width and height in pixels.
  2. Run the tool to see the aspect ratio.
  3. Keep important text and logos roughly inside the 10% inset as a conservative layout guide.

Preflight for OGP/social-card imagery

1200×630 produces an aspect ratio of about 1.905

1200 ÷ 630 ≈ 1.905. Moving key text and logos away from the outer edge makes the design more resilient to varying card crops.

The 10% inset is a guideline, not a guaranteed safe zone. Facebook, X, LINE and other surfaces can crop differently depending on card and device.

The same OG file can be framed differently across platforms

A social card may scale or crop an image to fit its own component rather than displaying every source pixel.

Keep critical content toward the center

Logos, headlines and faces placed at the extreme edges are more likely to be clipped by alternative card ratios.

Aspect ratio and resolution are separate concerns

600×315 is close to the same ratio as 1200×630, but the lower pixel count can look softer on high-density displays.

This is a layout guide, not a live social-card renderer

It does not reproduce every current platform UI or device-specific crop. Verify important campaigns with the platform’s actual share preview when possible.
