How to use it

Check the first numeric sequence found in each filename, then report the overall range, missing numbers and duplicate sequence numbers.

  1. Paste one filename per line.
  2. Select Check.
  3. Review Range, Missing and Duplicates.
Number source
First run of digits in each filename
Non-number filenames

Range
Minimum through maximum detected number
Safety limit
Maximum range span: 10,000

001.png, 002.png, 003.png, 005.png reports missing 4

The detected range is 1–5. Since 4 never appears, Missing is 4. With only one instance of each detected number, Duplicates is none.

If a filename contains several number groups, only the first group is used. For example, 2026_photo_003.png is treated as sequence number 2026.

Leading zeros do not create a different numeric value

001, 01 and 1 all become the number 1. If more than one appears, the checker reports 1 as a duplicate.

Missing numbers are searched across the full detected range

If the minimum is 1 and maximum is 100, every integer in between is checked for presence.

A 10,000-span guard prevents huge loops

Very distant sequence values can create an impractically large missing-number scan, so the tool rejects ranges wider than 10,000.

It does not infer filename prefixes or suffix groups

The checker focuses on the first numeric token only. It does not separately analyze multiple naming series such as IMG_ and THUMB_.
