The basic difference is the delimiter
CSV uses commas; TSV uses tab characters. Tabs can look like wide spaces in a text editor, so opening the result as a table is often the easiest way to verify the split.

Convert CSV to tab-separated text, or TSV back to comma-separated CSV, when the delimiter format—not the data model—is what needs to change.
CSV uses commas; TSV uses tab characters. Tabs can look like wide spaces in a text editor, so opening the result as a table is often the easiest way to verify the split.
A CSV value such as "Tokyo, Japan" is first read as one cell, then written into tab-separated output. This is not a blind comma-to-tab replacement.
TSV conventions vary more than CSV quoting rules. This converter emits a simple tab-separated form, so cells that themselves contain tabs or line breaks may be ambiguous to the receiving application.
When a TSV cell contains commas, quotes, or line breaks, CSV output quotes and escapes it so those characters remain data instead of becoming delimiters.
Use TSV as a copy/paste-friendly intermediate format, or convert a tab-delimited report into CSV for another service. Blank input is blocked instead of generating an empty download.
