The tool does not claim to verify live service-side master data, account-specific state, or network reachability that cannot be established reliably in-browser. The service’s own validation remains authoritative.
A blank Product ID is not the same as “leave this value unchanged.” BASE treats it as a new-product registration. Variation ID also identifies which existing variation is being edited.
For update files, losing an ID can be more consequential than leaving price or stock blank.
Without the Product ID column, this checker cannot distinguish new rows from updates, so it stops. A missing Variation ID column is only a warning because a CSV containing products without variations can still be valid.
If Variation ID is present but Product ID is blank, the checker warns because the row is still treated as new.
When a Variation ID is present, an empty variation-stock value is checked, and product-level stock on variation rows is flagged for review. Duplicate Product ID + Variation ID combinations are also surfaced.
This catches copy/paste rows that can otherwise be easy to miss.
This checker answers “which product/variation is this row targeting?” For blank-value behavior on new rows, use the BASE new-product default checker.
Resolve identity first, then validate the values.
