This unofficial checker covers only rules that can be verified in the browser. Live account settings, remote server state and later service-side validation remain authoritative.
BASE treats blank fields differently depending on whether Product ID is blank. On many updates, blank preserves the existing value. On a new row, documented defaults are applied instead.
That distinction is why this tool starts with Product ID rather than simply listing empty cells.
For a new product, blank price defaults to 50, stock to 0, and publication state to unpublished. Description stays blank. Blank display order also uses the documented default placement after existing products.
These are not necessarily import errors, so the tool reports them as warnings about intent.
Product ID tells you whether the row is being treated as new or as an update. If ID handling itself looks wrong, use the BASE Product/Variation ID checker first.
A blank cell cannot be interpreted safely until the row type is clear.
Many warnings do not mean “fill every blank.” If price 50, stock 0, unpublished, blank description, and default ordering are intentional, no change is needed.
The goal is to prevent surprises from defaults, not to force every CSV cell to contain text.
