How to use it

Enter names one per line and create a randomized numbered order for everyone. Use the numbers as seat assignments or as a simple randomized sequence for a classroom, meeting or activity.

  1. Enter each participant on a separate line.
  2. Select Shuffle seats.
  3. Map the numbered result to your actual seat numbers or seating chart.

Three people become a numbered order such as 1, 2 and 3

With Alice, Bob and Carol, the result might be 1. Bob / 2. Carol / 3. Alice. Match those numbers to the seats in your room.

The tool does not account for front-row needs, fixed seats, people who should not sit together, accessibility requirements or other placement constraints. Handle those conditions before or after the random order.

The result is a numbered list rather than a room diagram

Number your real seats first, then apply the shuffled list. This keeps the tool simple and works with many different room layouts.

Everyone receives one position

Unlike a single-name picker, Seat shuffler keeps all entered participants and assigns each one a place in the random order.

Different people with the same name need labels

If two participants share a name, enter labels such as Alex A and Alex B so the resulting seat assignment is unambiguous.

Placement constraints need human adjustment

Accessibility, fixed seats, group separation or other requirements are not balanced automatically. Reserve constrained seats first or adjust the accepted result afterward.

Save the accepted seating order

Another run can create a different assignment. Copy or capture the result once the class, meeting or event accepts it.
