How to use it

Enter names or choices one per line and pick exactly one at random. It is a good fit for choosing today’s presenter, facilitator, helper or one option from a short list.

  1. Enter one candidate per line.
  2. Select Pick.
  3. If you accept the result, share or record it before running another draw.

Choose one facilitator from three names

Enter Alice, Bob and Carol on three separate lines and the result shows one of those three entries.

Entering the same name twice gives that name two entries in the draw. Use the no-repeat name picker when you want everyone to appear once before anyone can be selected again.

Best for a one-off single choice

Use it when the current question is simply “which one?” Multiple-winner selection and turn-by-turn rotation are better handled by the dedicated random tools.

Blank lines and stray spaces do not create empty candidates

Copied lists often contain extra line breaks or surrounding spaces. Those are cleaned before the draw so they do not become separate empty choices.

Duplicates effectively add extra chances

Two identical lines are two entries. That can be intentional weighting, but accidental duplicates should be removed when every person is meant to have one chance.

A selected name remains eligible next time

Running another draw can return the same name again. Use the no-repeat tool for classroom turns, meeting rotations or other situations where repetition should wait.

Record the accepted result before drawing again

Another run can produce a different choice. Save or share the selected name when the draw is being used for an actual event or assignment.
