What to know before using it

Regex replacement can match more than expected. Review match count and preview first, and use first-only replacement when testing a pattern.

Common failure points

In regex mode, characters such as . * ? have special meaning.
Case-insensitive replacement can unintentionally alter IDs or codes.
Matching across line breaks depends on pattern and flags.
